Task 5 - Methods Of Research - DONE

Methods of Research.

Primary Research is when you conduct yourself to find out answers to specific questions. Questionnaires, surveys, internet forums, interviews and group forums are carried out through primary research. The advantage with primary is that the information is original and not copied from any other company and it enables the marketer to have a higher level of control over all the information that they collect. This makes it more reliable and trust worthy. On the other hand the disadvantage is that it is time consuming. It takes a certain amount of time for the research to be completed and the cost is extremely expensive too.

Secondary Research is when the person can use data that is not originally theirs. Secondary reasearch is where the information already exists which can also be used as a second hand research. Newsletters, Pamphlets, Magazines, and Trade publications are published in these. Because there is existing data in secondary research, it is a very easy process. However, because the information and data isn't original, it is a disadvantage because you would not know where the data is from and because of this it may not be reliable and trustworthy.

Quantative Reasearch  is research that is collected and data that deals with the number and amount of things. The advantage in qantative research is that there will be large quantatives of data. This makes it easy to control. The disadvantage for Quantative research is that it may be very difficult to design a questionnaire that tells you exactly what you want to know and questions cannot be improved or adjusted.

Quantitative Research and is usually displayed in graphs and tallies which allows it to be quicker and easier. Another advantage for this type of research is that the the results are easily analysed and easy to compare against any other data. On the other hand, data would have to be regularly updated.
